In the summer of 2017 I had the opportunity to participate in an AIA Residency at Red Lodge Clay Center in Red Lodge, Montana. After returning to my Minnesota studio, I chose to continue incorporating stoneware into my studio practice. After years of exclusive commitment to porcelain, I thoroughly enjoyed the possibilities stoneware presented and using multiple clays to craft my work. The decorative motifs are derived from my domestic setting which is filled with child detritus and paraphernalia. While I am not married to one particular type of kiln I am committed to a constant temperature. All work is fired to cone 10 in either a gas reduction, soda, or wood kiln.
